Sisters of Mercy Exhibit

The Sisters of Mercy have been in our city for 120 years, and with this exhibit, presented by the Webb County Heritage Foundation, we can see the positive influence they’ve had in the community. The Sisters had a vision to serve the people of Laredo, so in the late 1800’s, with just a few hundred dollars and a 6 bedroom home donated to them, they set to open a clinic for the growing population.

The 13 bed facility was a humble start for what later became one of the largest medical facilities in the city of Laredo. Don’t miss the opportunity to go back in time with this wonderful exhibit through the end of September. Enjoy the historic photos and artifacts inside the Villa Antigua Border Heritage Museum; located at 810 Zaragoza Street in downtown Laredo. The museum is open Tue-Sat 9:00am – 4:00pm.
