Colombia Bridge to Reopen

Laredo, TX. - July 8, 2010. Colombia Bridge to Reopen.
City of Laredo and State of Nuevo Leon officials, along with U.S. and Mexican Customs authorities are preparing to reopen Colombia Bridge.
The bridge was closed at 6 PM on Wednesday, July 7 so that authorities could remove computers and other essential infrastructure in anticipation of the rising river. The Rio Grande crested at the bridge at 48 feet earlier today. Authorities are busy reinstalling all computers and essential infrastructure to be able to reopen the bridge by Friday, July 9, 2010 at 8:00 a.m., or possibly, earlier.
