During the celebration, we will feature a special slideshow tribute honoring the lives and memories of those we have lost, as is tradition in the Mexican celebration of Día de los Muertos. This heartfelt tribute is more than a remembrance; it is a celebration of life. In Mexican culture, the altar (ofrenda) is lovingly decorated with flowers, candles, and photos to welcome back the spirits of those who have passed away. Placing their photo on the altar ensures they are never forgotten and invites their presence into our lives with joy, reflection, and love. To participate, the community may submit a high-quality JPEG photo of their loved one HERE:
MEXICAN ALTAR – SLIDESHOW TRIBUTE
Deadline to submit: October 28, 2025
Photos must be clear, respectful, and of good resolution (JPEG format only). By submitting a photo, you agree to its inclusion in the public tribute slideshow at the event.
We also invite the community to show their creativity by participating in the traditional Catrina Contest, a celebration of the iconic Day of the Dead figure that blends art, tradition, and imagination. All who wish to compete can register through the official link provided here. Costumes, face paint, and cultural flair are all welcome and encouraged to honor this vibrant tradition together.
