Get ready to get muddy for a cause.
Down & Dirtier for Health is a purpose-driven mud challenge bringing veterans and the community together to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. This event is about pushing limits, building connections, and reminding everyone that depression hates a moving target — so let’s move together.
Participants will take on a muddy, obstacle-style course designed for all fitness levels — whether you’re competitive or just here for an unforgettable community experience.
This is more than a race.

• A fun but challenging mud course
• Team or individual participation (teams can be any size)

Whether you’re racing or cheering, come ready to sweat, laugh, struggle together, and leave stronger — physically and mentally.
🏃 Course Format
• Heats of 24 participants at a time
• Teams may vary in size (4, 7, or more — it doesn’t matter)
• Solo participants are welcome
• First come, first serve
• First heat starts at 8:00 AM
You don’t need a team to participate — community becomes your team.
⏰ Event Schedule
Check-In Opens: 7:30 AM
Opening Remarks: 7:45 AM
First Heat Starts: 8:00 AM
Course Concludes: Around 12:00 PM
But the day doesn’t end there — enjoy food, music, and community connection until 4:00 PM.

👨👩👧 Age Requirements
• Ages 10 and under:
Must have parent/guardian consent AND a signed liability waiver.
A parent or guardian must also participate on the course with them.
• Ages 11–17:
Must have parent/guardian consent and signed liability waiver.
Parent/guardian does not need to participate on the course.
• 18+:
Standard participant waiver required.
⚠️ Waivers & Consent
All waivers and parental consent forms must be completed the night before the event.
Location details and final instructions will be provided at that time.
Participants must follow the Awareness Warriors Facebook page for updates and important event information.
🎒 What to Bring / Wear
✔ Athletic clothes you don’t mind getting muddy
✔ Closed-toe shoes with good traction
✔ Towel and change of clothes
✔ Water bottle
✔ Sunscreen / hat
✔ Positive attitude and grit
Optional: gloves, long socks, and a small bag for personal items.
👨👩👧 Spectators Welcome
Friends and family are encouraged to attend and cheer participants on.
There will be viewing areas near obstacles and the finish line.
Kids are welcome with adult supervision.
Even if you’re not running, come enjoy the food, music, and community.

Medical staff and volunteers will be on site.
Hydration stations will be available.
