Heritage Month + spooky season with a deep-dive into 4 Mexican gothic movies! The third
session of this series will be held on Thursday, October 1st. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and we’ll
begin at 8:00 p.m.
What is LFS Study Hall, you may be asking? LFS Study Halls are deep-dive screening series
grounded in criticism, analysis, history, and mythology, where we’ll explore films not just as
standalone works, but as cultural artifacts within a broader social, political, and historical
context, a living record of their time.
This session’s film follows THE quintessential Mexican folktale about a weepy ghost (YES, that
one). This version of that story blends witchcraft and gothic atmosphere.
